Legacy Writing: Capturing Your Stories For Future Generations

  • Madeline Island School of the Arts 978 Middle Road PO Box 536 LaPointe WI 54850 United States (map)

Have you always wanted to capture your life stories, but have never gotten around to it, or known where to begin? Perhaps you have started, but are stuck or overwhelmed. Maybe you want to pen your stories just for yourself, without any intention of sharing. If any of these scenarios ring true, this workshop is for you.

Register

In this workshop, you don’t have to write a book. Your journey begins with one story. From there, you’ll build your legacy one story at time, in a supportive, relaxed, and fun atmosphere.

To create your family legacy, you’ll pick and choose, as you like, from a number of story-based projects. Each project results in a different kind of family story—from a single memory to turning points in your life, family sayings to lessons learned, character profiles to blessings, to name a few. You’ll be surprised how quick and easy these projects are!

This workshop includes step-by-step instruction on multiple story projects, plenty of hands-on writing time, shared reading, and one-on-one coaching with Brenda. By the end of your stay, you will have a collection of completed stories and the know-how and encouragement to continue your legacy writing.

Two bonuses! As a special thank you, each participant will receive a handmade leather journal, crafted by Brenda. And, the first 8 to sign up will receive a free copy of Brenda’s forthcoming book Story by Story: 15 Projects to Write Your Family Legacy.

Come to MISA to create a family legacy and make sure your stories live on!
